There is now a published list of errata for the 'The Talisman' — just in case you were wondering why it was sounding a bit odd in rehearsal?

The publishers of 'The Talisman' test piece have announced a number of errata.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "It has come to our attention that some dynamic and articulation markings are missing from the score and parts. Please accept our apologies for these omissions."

Movement 1: Prelude

Bar 1 : 1st Baritone and 1st Trombone should be mf
Bars 8-10 : Basses should continue staccato
Bar 10 : 2nd Baritone, 2nd Trombone, Basses and Percussion crescendo hairpin missing.
Bar 12 : Solo Cornet accent missing on first note (as Solo Horn)
Bar 14 : 1st Baritone & Bass Trombone should be marked p
Bars 17-18: Bass Trombone, Euphonium & Eb Bass crescendo hairpin missing
Bar 24 : Solo Horn should be p
Bar 26 : 2nd and 3rd Cornets should be p
Bar 32 : Bass Trombone and Euphonium should be p
Bar 57 : Soprano Cornet should be ff
Bar 64 : Flugel should be ff
