Cutt Flowers for Grand Shield

Flowers announce that Garry Cutt and Dr Roy Newsome will be heading their assaults on the Grand Shield and Areas this year.

Flowers

The Flowers Band has announced that Dr Roy Newsome and Garry Cutt have been engaged to lead their title assaults at the Regional Championships and the Grand Shield this year.

Wonderful job

Band manager Lee Downie commented to 4BR: "We felt that both of these conductors would do a wonderful job on the chosen test pieces. Dr. Newsome is no stranger to 'Salute To Youth', whilst we felt that someone of Garry's calibre would leave no stone unturned in our bid to return to the British Open."

Harper return

Flowers are also gearing up for the Yeovil Entertainment Contest which will see the return of former MD Philip Harper, who will lead the band for what they hope will be a hat-trick of wins.

Goodbye

The band are also saying goodbye to a number of players.

Eb Bass Michelle Hockings, a long standing member of the band, has decided to head to pastures new and will cross over the Severn Bridge to join Welsh rivals Tredegar, whilst front row player Jemma Evans is also leaving to join BTM.

Second cornet player Jannine Eston is also saying 'au revoir' due to increasing work demands.

Lee Downie added: "The band would like to thank Michelle, Jemma and Jannine for their contribution and hard work over the years and wish them all the very best for the future."
