French National Championships 2009

The first National of the year are set to take place in Paris.

The first National Brass Band Championships of 2009 are set to take place in Paris this weekend, when the best bands in France do battle to try and gain qualification to the European Brass Band Championships.

Competitors

There is one band taking part in the Third Division contest, and one in the Second Division contest which follows immediately afterwards.

Two bands take part in the First Division contest with a further two competitors in the Excellence Division and two more in the Honneurs Section.

Set works

Gareth Woods 'Salomé' is the set work in the Excellence category, whilst Michael Forsyth's 'Alea jacta est' will test the bands in the Honneur Section. 'Valerius Variations' by Philip Sparke will test the bands in the Second Division.
