Taking over
He will take over from Lee Rigg, who has decided leave so he can spend more time with his family. Lee commented to 4BR: "I would like to thank Nicholas for giving me the opportunity to be a member of the band winning the Open and National and have some very memorable times."
Terrific player
Nicholas Childs meanwhile told 4BR: "Lee is a terrific player and we look forward to giving him this space with his family and I certainly look forward to future appearances where Lee will be depping with Black Dyke as our number one deputy."
He added: "Of course John Doyle’s prowesses as a player need little introduction and we welcome him back and I am sure he will make a very significant contribution to the band and its activities."
