Redbridge Music Service has been a hive of activity with brass events for its young brass players of late.
Tovey visit
Last term saw a visit from the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain tutors and Artistic Director Bram Tovey.
Meanwhile, pupils from Redbridge Music Service and Havering Music School recently worked alongside National Youth Brass Band tutors Glynn Williams and David Dawes in masterclasses and sectionals.
The event culminated in a presentation concert to parents which included pieces such as 'Disney Fantasy' and 'Little Suite for Brass' by Malcolm Arnold.
As one of the partner music services to the London Symphony Orchestra, pupils were invited to attend a masterclass given by Principal Trumpet, Rod Franks4BR
Rod Franks
Redbridge Music Service Brass Club recently performed as part of a brass band of over 80 pupils at the annual Brass Festival at Ilford Town Hall. The renowned trombone quartet Bones Apart performed at the concert alongside the pupils, inspiring all who attended the concert.
Star Wars
As one of the partner music services to the London Symphony Orchestra, pupils were invited to attend a masterclass given by Principal Trumpet, Rod Franks.
Pupils were treated to Rod playing excerpts from 'Star Wars' and were able to observe pupils from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama being put through their paces, learning new ways of approaching auditions and preparing for performances.
Brass Massive
Future events will include taking part in the forthcoming Trinity College of Music Brass Massive, which is part of the major annual brass event Trinity College of Music has staged now for over 6 years.
