Smithills complete latest marathon

10 hours of hard blowing keeps Smithills on the financial road for 2009.

Last Sunday, Smithills School Senior Brass Band and MD Chris Wormald completed their latest, 10 hour, non-stop, sponsored rehearsal from 9am right through to 7pm.

Full attendance

As with previous marathon days stretching back numerous years, the event was a complete success in every way, with full attendance from the forty strong band membership and parent supporters supplying constant refreshments throughout.

Down side

The only down side to the day was Chris Wormald had to miss Manchester United beating Chelsea at Old Trafford but as he will be at the Reebok next Saturday to watch Bolton v Manchester United, he has at least got that to look forward to…
