Lofthouse 2000 Band recently received £8000 from the Coldfield Regeneration Trust for new York cornets for their senior band.
Presents
The new instruments will be formally presented at their annual Christmas Concert on 20th December at Lofthouse Methodist Church — so they should sound brilliant on the night!
Loan Scheme
The instruments that are being replaced will be handed down to the Youth band and also offered to schools on a loan scheme.
There will also be tuition and mentoring opportunities with the senior band to help progress and integrate the new players. The scheme is designed to not only encourage new players but to bring music as a whole to our local schools and community.

Future
MD Andrew Whitaker told 4BR: "The future of Lofthouse 2000 and brass banding as a whole is dependant on this sort of scheme, encouraging new players and integrating them into banding."
He added: "As an self-funding organisation we are constantly fund raising, but without the help given to us by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust we wouldn't have been able to purchase these instruments. It will also help us to introduce a scheme which will hopefully ensure the future of Lofthouse Brass Band."
