Strata Brass recently presented their annual Christmas concert to a
capacity audience in their home town of Hoyland, near Barnsley.

Prizes

MD David Hirst commented on the bands hard work during 2008 resulting in three first prizes from five competitions entered. He awarded the 'Most Improved Player' prize to Samantha Pearson (Repiano cornet) for the second year in succession.

The 'Bandperson of the Year' was awarded to long serving percussionist
Robert Hardy.

The band is now busy preparing for the Butlins Mineworkers Contest in
January.
