Chichester City Band has announced the appointment of their new Musical Director, Martin Grace, following the recent retirement of their previous Conductor, John Williams.
Experience
Martin has been playing brass since his mother and music teacher introduced him to the cornet when he was 10 years old.
In 1985 he joined the Royal Marines Band Service where he has now works as the Bandmaster at the Royal Marines School of Music at HMS Nelson.
Being a professional musician he is always well organised and informed and is able to coach and get the very best from the playersChichester City Band
Helped out
Martin has helped out at rehearsals and concerts with the Chichester City Band in the past and all members are pleased that he has been appointed to conduct the band on a permanent basis.
A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "Being a professional musician he is always well organised and informed and is able to coach and get the very best from the players. You will be seeing Martin at most CCB appearances in the future and the band look forward to a lengthy association with him."
