Taster sessions at Lions Youth

Simone Rebello and Brett Baker to lead taster sessions for new young players in Sandbach.

Lions Youth Brass and their MD Nigel Birch has announced two forthcoming events which are open to all bands and schools within the area — with the help of star performers Simone Rebello and Brett Baker.

Percussion

On Saturday 6th December from 10.00am until 3.00pm they will be holding a percussion workshop, which will be run for them by Simonne. Any percussionists or non percussionists can take part and the cost is just £3.

The event takes place at The Maxwell Davies Centre, within The Sandbach Boys School.

Trombone

Also on the same day in the same buiding, Brett Baker will be giving a demonstration on the art of trombone playing. This is aimed particular players having just started or who want to take up playing the trombone.

Free advice

The demonstration is from 11.00am until 12noon, but following the session their will be instruments for people to try and also Brett will give some one to one advice for anyone who would like to know more information.

Harlow Brass Band

January 4 • We are a friendly and welcoming band who hold our own Spring and Christmas concerts. We also play at various local events throughout the year. We have vacancies for BACK ROW CORNETS, TROMBONES and PERCUSSION.


Epping Forest Band

January 3 • We are a friendly 3rd section band that have a vacancy for a solo horn to complete our line up. We perform in a variety of gigs and contests throughout the year. Our band hut is located close to Epping tube station and easy access for the M11.


The Cobham Band

January 2 • After 12 years absence, The Cobham Band (crowned most entertaining band at SCABA 2024) will return to the Regional contest in March 2025. We seek players to join us in this challenge and our regular concert and bandstand programme through the year.
