Open Doors at Leicester

The Leicester Open will be literally opening its doors this weekend — to over 50 bands.

The Leicestershire Brass Band Association Open Contest awaits more than 50 bands this weekend in its new venue of Burleigh Community College and Garendon High School Loughborough, Leicester.

Welcome visitors

Any local brass band enthusiasts, supporters and spectators are welcome, with tickets available on the door for £5.00 and £4.00 concessions, which gets you into both adjacent venues. The contest is held this Sunday 16th November.

Start

The unregistered section starts at 9am in Burleigh, and the First Section sets the pace in Garendon High at 10am.

The organising committee told 4BR that they wished the best of luck to all competing bands!

June 26 • We are looking for BBb bass and soprano cornet players to join our ambitious, busy and sociable 2nd section band (national finalists 2023) with a good blend of concerts, engagements and contests. Rehearsals Mondays and Thursdays 8-10pm in Farnham, Surrey.


Bilton Silver Rugby Band

June 25 • With a varied upcoming programme of events and following on from our successful "Musicals" concert and first ever trip to Saddleworth for Whit Friday, the band requires an Eb Bass player to join our group.
