4BR has been informed that Professor Edward Gregson is to be conferred with a honorary doctorate by the University of Manchester.

Latest honour

It is the latest of many awards and honours for one of the brass band movements finest compositional voices, and follows from the recent critical acclaim received after his 'Rococo Variations' was used at the British Open Brass Band Championships.

The ceremony will take place in early December.
