For the second time this year, Smithills School Senior Brass Band has sold out the 1,270 seat Victoria Hall in Bolton and raised over £8,000 for charity — and all in just one evening.
Double
Back in February the Smithills musicians were raising money for the RNLI (Lifeboats) as they have done for over a decade and on Saturday night, they were at it again, this time raising money for their other nominated charity, Bolton Hospice, for whom they have been supporting financially for almost twenty years.

Sinatra
In a concert entitled 'From Sinatra To James Bond' the band opened the concert with a 45 minute programme followed by the Senior Big Band.
Final performance
After the interval, the school’s Community Band, Senior Trombone Group and Senior Concert Band were featured, the latter giving its final performance in public before travelling down to London for the Royal Albert Hall Schools Proms on Monday November 10th.
