Test Music for NZ 2009

The test music for the 2009 New Zealand Brass Band Championships has been released.

The Brass Bands Association of New Zealand (BBANZ) is pleased to confirm the test music for the 2009 New Zealand Brass Band Championships, being held in Napier, as follows:

A GRADE: Paganini Variations, Wilby
B GRADE: Spectrum, Vinter
C GRADE: Three Part Invention, Downie

David Dobson, General Manager BBANZ, is also the Contest Manager for 2009 and beyond, replacing Helen Hoy, who for seven years maintained the highest standards and produced excellent contests.

Professor David King has accepted the position as Chief Adjudicator for the 2009 Contest.

The Assistant Chief Adjudicator is Selwyn Holmes.

CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around

April 2 • . Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
