Top trio ready for Kippax Final

Three bands are hoping to bag a grand at the Kippax Entertainment Contest on the weekend.

This coming Sunday (9th November) sees the final of the Kippax Band Entertainment Contest, which takes place at the Kippax Band Club.

£1,000

The contest which has been sponsored by Aqua Enviro for the second year running, will see a £1,000 first prize awarded to the winning band.

Contenders

After three heats, three bands have qualified for the final, headed by
Drighlington who were the winners from the first heat and come to the final under the direction of Kevin Belcher.

Second heat winners Harrogate Band under the directorship of David Lancaster qualified for the final for first time, whilst thecontest marks the final appearance of David as leaves the band to join Yorkshire Imperial.

Finally from the last heat come the EYMS Band under the baton of Jim Davies. EYMS come to the final buoyed by their recent 9th place at the National Championships at the Albert Hall.

Cambrian Brass

Delph Band

May 15 • We are seeking an enthusiastic and musically skilled Associate Conductor to lead and develop our band alongside our current Musical Director Phil Goodwin. . Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays, 8-10pm at Delph Band Club.


Tintwistle Band

May 15 • We have a vacancy for a soprano cornet, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up we would love to get this seat filled!. We rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom in Tintwistle, under the baton of our superb MD, Jim Henson.
