Cheshire’s Timperley Band have been crowned North West Counties Brass Band Association Championship Section Champion Band of the year for 2007/2008.
The title has been awarded to the band for their consistent contest results against the other Championship Section bands competing in the North West region.
Delighted and proud
Gary Winson, Band Chairman who collected the glass trophy on behalf of the band at the recent Fleetwood Contest told 4BR: "We are all absolutely delighted and proud to have won this award. Only in September 2005 we reformed the band, and by sheer hard work by all involved has ensured we now compete at the highest level.
The band is always forward looking. Sometimes we forget just how far we have come in such a short time and this award acts as a great acknowledgement of thatChairman, Gary Winson
