Following the successful 2008 course, the celebrated Bromsgrove Brass Band Summer School is launching an opportunity for composers worldwide to write for the 2009 Course.
Platform
Tutor and trombone virtuoso Nick Hudson told 4BR: "The staff and Directors would like to give music students and composers a platform to display their compositional skills in writing for small brass ensemble."
Initiative
Nick added: "Over the last few years a number of outstanding writers have been brought to the forefront of the brass band world, and we know there are a lot more out there. Sadly many of these composers are unable to get their work recognized due to limited performance opportunities and we hope this initiative will help overcome some of these obstacles."
As well as £200 prize money, the winner will be given the opportunity to have their work published, marketed and distributed worldwide by Prima Vista Musikk.
