The Wilsden Band recently entertained a capacity audience last Saturday on the occasion of its 15th annual concert for 'Friends' of the band.
Well received
Held at the band headquarters, they delivered a well received programme of popular band favourites, with varied items to please everyone.
Solo horn Raymond Dickerson enthralled with 'Demelza', whilst Jamie O'Brien produced a fine account of 'You Raise Me Up'.
Short notice
Jamie came into the band at very short notice as regular principal cornet Shelley Hodgson was rushed into hospital on the Friday evening. Shelley is now back home, with a hoped for return to the band for next week.
The band's annual prizes to recipients went to Dennis Renshaw on Eb Bass as 'Most Improved Player', whilst the prize for 'Bandperson of the Year' was shared by percussionists, Tom Holt and Bob Warnock.
