Following yesterday’s announcement in The Times that the International Staff Band has signed new recording contract with Universal records, Croydon Citadel will be their first port of call since their million pound deal was announced.
Thrilled
Croydon Citadel’s Bandmaster Mark Ingram told 4BR: "We are absolutely thrilled that the ISB, is able to join us as a culmination of our very special 125th Anniversary celebrations."
Home support
Mark added: "We’re particularly pleased that three of our own Bandsman, Carl Neilsen, Kevin Coates and Iain Parkhouse are also members of the ISB so they will have lots of home support!"
Anniversary
In addition to Croydon’s 125th Anniversary, this year also marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Major Leslie Condon. He was a renowned composer, member of the ISB and he also served as Croydon’s own much-loved Bandmaster.
Ingram added: "For these reasons the weekend looks set to be both a poignant reminder of the past and an exciting highlight of our special year that will help to inspire and challenge us as we look forward to the future."
