Derwent Brass have expressed their delight after taking top honours at the recent Bolsover Entertainment Contest, winning the Championship Section inter-county challenge against some stiff opposition from Leicestershire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Compliment
Adjudicator David Horsefield complimented the band's Musical Director Keith Leonard on a well prepared and presented performance that was also very well played.
Solo prize
The solo prize also went to the band's euphonium player Adam Rutter who commented to 4BR: "It's great when it all comes together and you get the reward for the all hard work we put in."
