Death of Simon Palmer

The tragic death of Simon Palmer of the Stantonbury Band has been announced.

Stantonbury

Stantonbury Brass (Milton Keynes) has reported the devastating news of the death of its flugel horn player Simon Palmer.

Simon sadly took his own life on Sunday 28th September and was only 31 years of age.

Nicest young men

He came through the music service system in Milton Keynes and had been a member of the band for 18 years, often being a featured soloist in many of their concerts.

A spokesperson told 4BR that he was one of the nicest young men one could wish to meet and no one can recall him ever missing an engagement in the 18 years he was a member. "Stantonbury Brass was his life and we will miss him terribly. Only two weeks ago he said he was looking forward to the new challenge of the 2nd section in the new year."

Funeral details

Simon`s funeral will be at the Crownhill Crematorium, Milton Keynes on Wednesday 8th October at 3.30pm.

Any past members or friends of Simon wanting to join the band who will play at the funeral service would be very welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family have asked for donations to be made to the charity MIND.

We send our deep condolences to his family at this very sad time.
