Death of Alvin Wycherley

The death has been announced of Alvin Wycherley.

4BR has been informed of the death of Alvin Wycherley. The father of Alan, Alvin 84, passed away on Saturday 20th September.

Throughout his life, Alvin was associated with a number of bands including Creswell Colliery where as a Bb Bass player he played under George Hespe, whilst he served as secretary for many years with the Langwith Miners Welfare Band.

Alvin's son Alan had just arrived in Switzerland to team up with Wallberg Brass Band for preparations for the Swiss Open this weekend when he learned of his father's death, but will continue his preparations with the band just as his father would have wanted before returning home next weekend.

Funeral details

The funeral of Alvin Wycherley will take place on Monday 29th September at Redditch Crematorium, Bordesley Lane, Worcestershire, B97 6RR at 1.15pm
