Tiverton get Stoned...

Tiverton Town Band recently had a very special conductor at the helm — the brilliant singer Joss Stone.

Tiverton Town Band, from Devon were led by a guest conductor when they played recentley for the opening of a new supermarket, in nearby Cullompton.

Guest conductor

The band had been booked to entertain shoppers on the opening day of the new Tescos store, when un-announced Joss Stone, who's home is nearby, appeared from the car park, and proceeded into the store to shop.

Non player

On her exit from the store she asked which charity the band were collecting for and was told it was Marie Curie Cancer Care, she was then asked if she would like to conduct the band, which she agreed to.

She admitted that '...she couldn't play an instrument' to which members of the band said 'they couldn't sing'Tiverton Band

New experience

She admitted that "...she couldn't play an instrument" to which members of the band said "they couldn't sing", and for a while a whole new musical experience could be heard around the store with the band playing and Joss giving some interesting backing vocals whilst conducting.

Pictures were taken and autographs signed and an enjoyable evening was had by all.
