With only days left before the National Finals at Harrogate, Newbridge (Celynen) Band has managed to sign two new players.

Duo

Billy Smith comes in on percussion from Cwmbran Band and Howard Jones joins on the front row from Treherbert.

Howard, having been principal cornet with Treherbert for the past few years is probably better known for the many years he spent with Cory on repiano.

Howard and Billy are two good signings for Newbridge. Howard is a well seasoned campaigner whereas Billy is a great young talented percussion player with a long future in bandingMD, Paul Holland

Full strength

The band is now at full strength and is looking forward to their fourth consecutive appearance at the National Finals.

MD Paul Holland told 4BR: "Howard and Billy are two good signings for Newbridge. Howard is a well seasoned campaigner whereas Billy is a great young talented percussion player with a long future in banding."
