Barry Hudson, Musical Director of the current Second Section Yorkshire Champion Slaithwaite, and a professional artist, has been invited to hold an exhibition of his paintings at the Walker Art Gallery in Montpellier Parade, Harrogate during the National Finals weekend.
Renowned stable
The paintings which include landscapes, seascapes and impressions of Venice will remain on display at Walker’s Harrogate gallery for the following three weeks as Hudson is a member of the Walker’s renowned stable of contemporary artists.

Particulary pleased
Barry told 4BR: "I exhibit throughout the year in various galleries in the UK and abroad, but I am particularly pleased that this hanging coincides with the National Finals."
He added: "It represents an unusual opportunity for me to show another aspect of my life that is not normally seen by my friends and colleagues in the brass band movement. The Nationals weekend will be extra busy for me as I will need to spend time at Walkers, but obviously my main concern will be conducting Slaithwaite."
Work on show
Balbinder Olak, manager of the Walker Gallery told 4BR: "Barry has been represented by us for a number of years and as the Slaithwaite Band was playing in Harrogate again this year, we thought it would be a good idea to have his work on show in our Montpellier Parade gallery which is just a short walk away from the National Exhibition Centre."
A graduate of Leeds College of Art, Barry Hudson’s work is in the collections of The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Lord and Lady Alderham, Melvyn Bragg and many other artistic luminaries.
