After their success at the recent National Festival of Youth in Birmingham, the Northamptonshire Youth Brass Band conducted by Brad Turnbull & Primo Tuba Quartet have been selected to perform at the Last Night of the Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in November.

The Band was awarded an 'Outstanding Award' at Birmingham after an 11 year gap. They last featured at the Schools Proms in 1986 where they were conducted by the inspirational John Berryman. New MD, Brad Turnbull will conduct on this occassion.

The members in the band have worked so hard this year after celebrating their own 40th Anniversary throughout the year.
Primo Quartet
Primo Tuba Quartet, is a student led ensemble of all members of have also been invited to the Schools Proms on the Tuesday evening. Rory Cartmel is the brains behind this fledging quartet, who for only their sixth performance will be at the RAH — not bad as they have not been together more than a year.
Some of members of the band have spent the week with Bram Tovey at the National Youth Band of Great Britain, with principal cornet, James Fountain becoming the NYBBGB joint principal cornet at the ripe old age of 14!
