The Tasmanian Bands League (TBL) and its Music Advisory Board are pleased to announce that a state brass band, named Jubilee Brass, has been formed and is preparing for a program of rehearsals, workshops and concerts.

Convenor of the Music Advisory Board, Dean Hunt said, "We are again fortunate in securing the conducting skills of Howard Taylor, Director of Australasian champion band, Brisbane Excelsior."

"Also, BBb tuba player Dean Morley, previously with Grimethorpe and now with Brisbane Excelsior, will be special guest soloist as well as facilitating workshops and offering lessons."

This coming weekend, the Glenorchy City Concert Band will host Jubilee Brass as it spends two days rehearsing in preparation for concerts in Launceston, Devonport and Hobart on August 23 and 24.
