Cobb set for London

Philip Cobb will be the featured soloist at the traditional pre National concert this year.

Rising trumpet and cornet star Philip Cobb will be featured as guest soloist at the Enfield Citadel Band's Annual Pre-Contest Festival, this year to be held at St John's Smith Square, London, on the ee of the National Finals.

Hot property

Philip, a member of the Hendon Salvation Army Band, is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the brightest young trumpet stars on the London scene and is currently a student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Norway visit planned

Meanwhile, a four day visit to Norway is being planned for May 2009 for the band. The programme for the visit has yet to be confirmed but it is expected that the short tour will conclude in the west coast city of Trondheim. Other events for Spring 2009 include visits to Brighton and Wigan as well as the local Annual Spring Festival.
