Boddice & Harper team up at BTM

It's Boddice at Birmingham and Harper at London for BTM.

The BTM Band has announced its conducting line up for it's first appearance at the British Open in September.

Boddice

Nigel Boddice will be conducting the band on stage following his succesful partnership with the Welsh band at the Grand Shield.

Meanwhile, following recent developments at PolySteel, BTM have moved swiftly in securing the services of Philip Harper to assist with preparation for the contest.

Harper

Philip has also been engaged to conduct the band at the Nationals.

This will be the second time that Philip has conducted BTM at the Nationals following his appreance with them in 2005 on 'Eden'.

Highest standards

Band Manager Jeff Hutcherson told 4BR: "BTM are serious about attaining the highest standards possible at a time in our history when our ranking has shown a marked improvement.

"We are looking forward to the challenges that the next couple of months throw our way and have secured what we believe are two outstanding conductors to prepare and enhance our performance."

Jeff also took the opportunity to thank the recent work undertaken by both Nigel Seaman and David Maplestone with the band over the last few months.

Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

January 8 • Following our promotion to the 2nd section we are looking for a percussionist to do a bit of bing bonging on the timps for the regionals in March. We are a lovely band - everyone says so - so please get in touch. Rehearsals Weds from 1930 in Putney.


Mid Rhondda Band

January 6 • Mid Rhondda Band are currently looking for a trombone player and percussionists to join the team. We are a friendly, welcoming 3rd section band working towards competing in the Welsh Area in March. We also have a variety of events booked for 2026.
