Surfers Paradise Brass has appointed a new Musical Director after a lengthy selection process.

After advertising the position as vacant, a small, but quality field of applicants was trialed in the position over the last couple of months.

Last night, the Band moved to appoint Mr Dylan Troyahn to the position effective immediately. Dylan is Co-ordinator of Brass and Director of Bands at The Southport School on the Gold Coast. He has an extensive Brass Band background originally with Sunshine Brass and later with the South Brisbane Federal Band. He is a graduate from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

The Band is now looking for a long period of positive development under Dylan's directorship to consolidate on gains made up till now. The first challenge will be the Gold Coast Eisteddfod Open Band competition in mid-August.
