We wish to sound like a “real” British brass band. This musical intention is distinctive and the conception of Brass Band Hessen (BBH) has been done with this very much in mindJochen Werz

Real British brass band

Jochen Werz, spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "We wish to sound like a “real” British brass band. This musical intention is distinctive and the conception of Brass Band Hessen (BBH) has been done with this very much in mind. The band not only plays in the traditional cast of English brass bands but also attaches importance to typical instrumentation, an interplay that enables such characteristic sound."

Mix

Brass Band Hessen is a mix of professional musicians and music students meeting with semi professional amateurs of all occupations and age groups. They intend to establish themselves long-term in the European brass band scene and makes brass band music an inherent part of the Hessian music and cultural scene.
