Since the Buffet Crampon group bought the Besson brand two years ago, new manufacturing facilities have been created in Germany and France.
Today, all of the professional models from the former Besson catalogue have been launched. Production throughout 2007 and the beginning of 2008 was at a higher level than Besson’s level prior to joining the group.
Progress
2008 should once again see progress at Besson, and ensure that Besson responds to the needs of the market on both a professional and a student level.
Optimistic
The range for beginners which is traditionally made in India is once again in the catalogue, and we are optimistic as to the potential the series 1000 offers. This series includes cornets, alto horns, baritones, euphoniums, tubas and trombones.

An exceptional day:
On Wednesday 25th June, there was an exceptional day for Besson instruments at their Courtois factory in Amboise (France).
Roger Webster came to test the current batch of the Besson professional range of cornet — Sovereign and Prestige, and was impressed by the quality and constancy: "It's incredible — they are very good, in tune and have an exceptional finish."
Horn stars
Meanwhile, tenor horn stars Lesley Howie and Stijn Berbe came to validate the first large consignment of BE950 (Sovereign) and BE2050 (Prestige).
The monthly production of more than 70 instruments was accepted with total confidence in the Courtois technical staff, certain of the quality of their instruments.
As the duo stated: "The work was so intense and pressurised on this instrument that we could only succeed."
