The recent Bugle Contest saw the home town band take the honours in the Second Section.
Despite the rainy conditions, Bugle Silver Band had a fantastic day at the West Of England Bandsmen's Festival.
Black Dyke
Playing the march "Black Dyke" they gained second place in the Deportment class, and from the number 2 draw in the main contest, the nationally graded Third Section band delivered two excellent performances of the hymn tune "Crimond", and the test piece “Three Saints” to take first prize in each category and win the overall Second Section title.
Thanks must go to Musical Director, David Pope, for his tireless efforts and patience in rehearsing the band!Secretary, Ann McKnight
Rain and wind
Despite the rain pouring off the top of the bandstand and the wind blowing over stands, Bugle were delighted especially as solo trombonist Helen Dunstan walked away with the best soloist award.
Secretary, Ann McKnight told 4BR: "Thanks must go to Musical Director, David Pope, for his tireless efforts and patience in rehearsing the band!"
