Two long standing members of Muker Silver Band were recently presented with long service awards by their president Mary Guy.
Peter Guy has joined a number of other band members having served 50 years, whilst Ken Guy is their longest serving member and received his award for 60 years continuous service.
Ken joined the band as a boy when it reformed after the second world war and played alongside some of the bands founding members from 18974BR

He has played most of the instruments in the band at one time or another, but finally settled on BBb Bass. He is also the current vice president and librarian.
