Bridge too far at Menai

Sop player Philip Williams flies off to the RAF.

Menai Bridge

Menai Bridge Porthaethwy Band have just said goodbye to their soprano cornet player, Philip Williams, who is about to start a career in the RAF.

Decade

Phil has just turned 18 and had been a member of the band for over 10 years, rising through the the Junior and Intermediate bands before making his Senior band debut in Swansea in 2002. Over the last year Phil has also tried his hand at conducting, taking the Intermediate band for rehearsals.

The band wish him well for the future and thank him for his continued dedication and effort. However, we would like to warn any future band about his pre-contest ritual — a curry at 4.00am on contest day!4BR

Popular

A popular member of the band, Phil's totally laid back attitude will be missed, as will his practical jokes. The band wish him well for the future and thank him for his continued dedication and effort. However, we would like to warn any future band about his pre-contest ritual — a curry at 4.00am on contest day!
