After their performance at Cambridge on the weekend Redbridge Brass state they are going from strength to strength following their best ever placing at the All England Masters International contest.
Their performance saw them catch the ears of the men in the box who awarded them 4th prize – the first time the band has featured in the prizes at a major national contest for many years.
The result last weekend represents a great achievement for the band and is testament to the hard work of our players and our MD, Jeremy WiseBand Secretary, Tim Mogan
Great achievement
Band secretary Tim Morgan told 4BR: "2008 didn’t start well for us as circumstances forced us to withdraw from the Butlins contest with just a few weeks to go. However, we went on to retain our area title under Rob Wiffin in March and then followed that up with our first top ten placing at the Grand Shield for 14 years. The result last weekend represents a great achievement for the band and is testament to the hard work of our players and our MD, Jeremy Wise."
Electropop
The band has enjoyed several other high profile engagements this year, including supporting electropop band Hot Chip at a sold out gig in front of 5000 fans at the Brixton Academy and providing entertainment for a corporate event in Dubai.
Following the English Nationals next month, the band will also be appearing at the world famous Glastonbury Festival.
