Paul Kiernan, the former principal trombone player of Scottish Co-op has been appointed by the Unison Kinneil band to conduct them in the semi final of the West Lothian Challenge, against his former band.
Priorities
Paul told 4BR: "I had over 14 years as a player and manager with Scottish Co-op however my priorities now lie in the preparation of Unison Kinneil for the contest. With intense rehearsals over the last two weeks on our new programme I have been absolutely delighted with the bands attitude and response."

Unison Kinneil’s Secretary Robert Doherty added: "It’s great to see Paul back in the Kinneil band room where he started his playing and contest career almost 30 years ago when I first introduced him to Kinneil Band. The band is in fine form at the moment after good performances at the Scottish Championships and the Senior Cup in Blackpool and with Paul’s relentless preparation for the West Lothian Challenge we are looking forward to another successful contest."
