Contest in the Tropics

North Queensland bands are turning up the heat in preparation for the annual district competition being held on 7 & 8 June.

Whilst many southern bands are readying themselves for the annual Best of Brass contest, North Queensland Bands are all geared up for this year’s Northern Zone contest, to be hosted by Cairns Brass over the Queens Birthday weekend.

Eight bands will be performing, with record numbers of soloists also entered.

The weekend’s program will consist of Saturday morning solos, a Saturday evening entertainment section and on Sunday, the test, hymn and stage march selections.

This will be followed by the presentations and a BBQ at the band hall for all competing bands and supporters.

Cairns Municipal Band
City of Thuringowa
Townsville No.1
Tropical Brass

The adjudicator for the weekend is Greg Aitken.
