Boobs out at House of Lords

A fantastic day out for the Booby girls as their great campaign gains recognition in the House of Lords.

Boobs and Brass

On Wednesday 30th April Jane and Maggie, founder of Boobs and Brass, made a great trip to London and the House of Lords.

Invitation

They had received an invitation from Baroness Foulkes of Cornwall to attend a reception given by the Breast Cancer Campaign and felt very honoured to be there and listen and talk to some of the scientists, fund raisers, volunteers and sufferers who are connected to the charity in some way.

Proud

Maggie and Jane were also very proud to be able to represent everyone who is involved with "Boobs & Brass" and tell their story of what the band has achieved and what they are doing in the future. They even suggested that the whole band go next year to entertain on the verandah!!

Maggie wanted to say to the 'girls' (and the odd boy) — "Thank you all for giving us this opportunity — it is a fantastic team effort and full of surprises — we never know what the next phone call is going to bring!"

Not to plan

However, not everything went to plan!

After their long day Maggie and Jane were absolutely exhausted — the day went something like this:

Exhausting trip

They got a bit wet on the way there; had their picture taken for security reasons when entering the House, couldn't find their way out — Jane having tried all the doors (including the one to the electric boxes!!) nearly collapsed with laughter over something they cannot mention(!); took the Piccadilly Line instead of the Victoria Line; nearly missed the train because Jane's shoes were crippling her.

Bacon butty

Then she couldn't get her shoes back on when they got back to Kettering because her feet had swollen up — so had to walk to the car barefooted; ended up with a bacon butty on the train instead of the meal they thought they were going to have on the way home AND Maggie's umbrella almost had a trip to Sheffield!!

Apart from that — they had a fantastic day!!
