Trombonist Nick Hudson has just returned from a whistle stop visit to Switzerland.

Nick was featured soloist in the Derek Bourgeois 'Trombone Concerto' with Brass Band Imperial Lenzburg conducted by Christian Siegmann where a capacity audience filled the Gemeindesall in Bushs for music by Quincy Jones, Martin Ellerby, Aagaard-Nilsen and Michael Kamen.

Real treat

Nick told 4BR: "It was a real treat to work with the band; they are a lovely group of people and a talented ensemble too!"

The taxing accompaniment parts to the Bourgeois didn’t create any problems and I must thank Christian and the band for all their preparationNick Hudson

Taxing

Nick added: "The taxing accompaniment parts to the Bourgeois didn’t create any problems and I must thank Christian and the band for all their preparation. Things are obviously going from strength to strength under Christian’s direction and I’m sure they’ll be strong contenders in their upcoming contests. I wish them all the best for their future music making."

Looking forward

Nick is now looking forward to performing at the upcoming BTS Festival in Leicester, and soon after flies out to Canada to take part in the Ottawa Brass Festival with Maple Leaf Brass Band and the National Arts Centre Symphony Orchestra Brass.
