Snow business like contest business

Fairlop celebrate victory against the odds at Hove.

Fairlop

Fairlop Brass are still celebrating after their recent win at the combined Championship/First Section SCABA Contest at Hove last Sunday, a result that made the journey through the snow worthwhile.

Problems

MD Kevin Jordan told 4BR: "Our thanks go to the organisers who over came so many problems on the day to make sure it ran as smoothly as possible, at what is an ideal venue."

This win, plus the conductors prize for the MD was a great lift for the nationally graded Second Section band, and could not come at a better time as they celebrate their 40th Anniversary this year.

Great Celebration

Fairlop has a great celebration year lined up too, with the launch of its second CD, and an Anniversary Concert on 6th July.

Kevin added: "We have been in contact with many former players (some of which will join us on stage for the final few items) and supporters but would like to hear from any others they have lost contact with."
