Whiston off Channel hopping

The Whiston Band are set to go hopping across the channel for a fifth time later this Summer.

 

Under the baton of their MD Joe Johnson BMus (Hons), Whiston Brass is once again off to Brittany France for its annual tour.

For the fifth year, the tour will once again take in some of the finest concert venues in Brittany and is set to take place in July and August.

Impressive locations

Concerts will be played at impressive locations such as the walled port of Concarneau with its beautiful floodlit amphitheatre, the picturesque island sanctuary of Le Mont St Michel, and in the Bandstand in the beautiful walled flower garden and park of Rennes, the capital city of Brittany.

Hard work

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Being a village band, Whiston Brass have once again worked hard to fund the tour by carrying out numerous Christmas Carol playing engagements and summer galas. The tour is testament to the very hard work and dedication of all band players, officials and helpers."

Tintwistle Band

June 9 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team. . We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm under the baton of our MD Jim Henson, at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
