Ear for harmony
Devilish Publishing told 4BR: "It was important for us to choose a winner who would fit in the Devilish Publishing ethos. It was clear from Magnus’ score that he was an experienced composer who had a great ear for harmony. He demonstrated an instinct in producing ‘intelligent’ concert music that is appealing to an audience and that it can be done without dumbing-down his writing. We look forward to working with him.2
Runner up
The runner-up spot went to Dr Peter Hartley who produced a cornet feature called 'Dialogue'.
