Seventy-five of the UK’s finest young brass players in the UK are to visit Somerset this Easter under the baton of one of the world’s leading orchestral conductors.
The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain is to perform at the Winter Gardens in Weston Super Mare on Friday 28th March and Yeovil’s Octagon Theatre on Saturday 30th. Both concerts will be conducted by Christopher Adey.
The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain will prepare for the concerts during an intensive one-week residential course held at Taunton School starting on Saturday 22 March.

Guest Soloist
Guest cornet and trumpet soloist for the concerts will be one of the world’s finest cornet players, Richard Marshall, principal cornet of the legendary Black Dyke Band.
Renowned
Christopher Adey’s conducting debut in 1973 led to his appointment as Associate Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra from between 1973 — 1976.
In additional to international conducting engagements, Christopher Adey maintains a profound commitment to guest conducting with county, national and international youth orchestras where he is one of Britain's most renowned orchestral trainers.
Programme for the Easter course and concerts include music by Macolm Arnold, Philip Wilby, Leighton Lucas and Gilbert Vinter.
