Fodens celebrate victory

Fodens celebrate record 15th regional victory.

Fodens

Fodens Richardson Band has told 4BR that they would like to thank all their supporters and patrons for their messages of congratulations following on from their North West Area Victory.

Speaking to 4BR, Mark Wilkinson said: "Despite having a bye to the Nationals we worked extremely hard on our contest preparation. The band were very pleased with their performance and to have won the contest for a record breaking 15th time."

The icing on the cake was for Fodens to become the most successful outfit in the history of the contestGarry Cutt

History

Garry Cutt commented: "As conductor, I am delighted to be part of making a little piece of history for this famous band. A hat-trick of wins in the North West is quite an achievement and really confirms the band's dominance here over the past decade. The icing on the cake was for Fodens to become the most successful outfit in the history of the contest."

Higher level

Garry added: "The last six months or so has witnessed Fodens playing at a far higher level of performance on the contest platform and following on from what was quite a special concert at the RNCM in January, this is a great start to the year."

Looking forward

Fodens are now looking forward to a 2 week Easter Break before starting preparations on two CD recordings with Bramwell Tovey in May and a defence of their titles at the 'International Masters' and 'Whit Friday'.
