A new radio programme in the Calderdale (Halifax and its surrounding towns and communities) has been launched on Phoenix FM 96.7

It will be fronted by Chris Helme who told 4BR: "This started in December 2007 and whilst I was at the studio for an interview about a book I had written I took the opportunity of asking the studio manager if they had plans for a brass band programme – hmm, ‘no but would you like to do one’ she replied. So with a bit of cheek I talked myself into producing and presenting the only brass band programme in Yorkshire that I am aware of these days."

Sunday Bandstand

The programme is ‘Sunday Bandstand’ and is on from 2pm to 3pm every Sunday.

So far Chris has received e-mails from listeners as far away as Holland and Switzerland as well as local listeners.
