The 2nd annual Ohio Brass Arts Festival has been postponed due to a massive blizzard that struck the Ohio Valley this past weekend. The snow began Friday morning at approximately 11am (EST) and did not let up until late Saturday afternoon.
There are very few accounts of anything like this ever hitting Columbus, OH. Franklin County and all the surrounding counties were under level 2 & 3 alerts (in a level 3 alert only emergency vehicles are allowed to be in the road).
Fairey's principle euphonium Mark Bousie, was already in town before the blizzard hit and was still able to make a successful week of it in spite of the festival's cancellation. He was able to work with a few of the local bands (including the host Central Ohio) as well as administer a masterclass at The Ohio State University.
Organizers are looking for a make-up date in late April or May and will be sure to announce those details as soon as they are available.
