Blot on landscape for Europeans

Brass Blot is the piece the top bands will have to get to grips with in Stavanger later this year.

EBBA

It has been reported that the Norwegian Band Federation and EBBA have confirmed that HÃ¥kon Berge, a leading contemporary Norwegian composer, has written the test piece for the European Brass Band Championships in Stavanger this year.

'Brass Blot' ('Brass Offering') takes its inspiration from a slightly skewed look at the contest. He is reported to suggest that it takes brass music back to heathen times and that he hoped the audience keeps an open mind on hearing it4BR

Cornucopia

Meanwhile Craig Farr will provide the B section test. His work is entitled 'Cornucopia' and takes its inspiration from The cornucopia, the horn of plenty, and old symbol for something that gave people everything they needed.
