Opportunity
The concert will also give the opportunity for the day’s participants to perform along side players from London Brass covering pieces from the workshop sessions.
Past brass days have involved over 170 pupils with evening concerts featuring trumpet and trombone ensembles, tuba quartets and brass bands tutored by James Gourlay, Nick Hudson and John Miller.
Free loan
There have also been “endangered species” days for trombones and french horns led by David Purser and Simon De Souza. In a major move to promote brass playing, from September all students receiving tuition through Cambridgeshire Music can have the loan of any instrument that is available, free for a year.
The London Brass day runs from 10.00 am until 5.00pm with the evening concert starting at 7.30pm. The whole of the brass day, including ticket to the evening concert, costs only £20.
