Devilish Publishing Music Publishers have announced their third composing competition.

Passion

The Devilish Award for Composition is awarded to brass band composers who demonstrate a passion for writing for the medium and who command great talent and creativity within their scores.

This year, composers may submit anything from a chorale to a march, a testpiece to a concert item. Scores will be judged on creative merit and technical competence. The winning work will be published by Devilish Publishing later in the year.

Risk takers

Devilish Publishing told 4BR: "While the purpose of this competition is to bring about new individual talent, we would like to see some risk-takers and we urge all entrants to think how they can contribute to the brass band repertoire in a significant way."
